LOAD TESTING

static load testing

Load testing is often required to determine or prove the capacity of the foundation system with regard to its interaction with the soil. In many cases load testing is required to satisfy local building code requirements. For static compression load testing, a steel frame is restrained by ground anchors, dead weight, or both.

A test load is applied to the foundation by jacking upward against the reaction while the foundation is monitored for movement.

Statnamic load testing is a rapid load testing method recognized by American Society for Testing and Materials. In this photo, piling installed by John Burgstiner, Inc. is being prepared for application of a Statnamic test load by engineering service specialist Applied Foundation Testing.
